The end of April marks the beginning of the deployment of the field setups, developed and installed by Castros | Lighting Designers and MATGLOW began to be installed as part of the ambitious UVineSafe project, centred on the use of ultraviolet (UV) light to induce resistance in grapevines against pests and diseases, funded by Banco BPI's ‘La Caixa’ Foundation in partnership with the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT).
This is the first and largest ‘Living lab’ to date that uses UV technology to carry out studies directly in the field.
The consortium led by the Centre for Research and Agro-environmental and Biological Technologies (CITAB) of the University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro is made up of the companies: Castros | Lighting Designers and MATGLOW, the University of Porto (FCUP) and the Casa de Mateus Foundation.
